ARTIST EXPOSÉ: ARTISTIC IDENTITY VS PUBLIC IMAGE
Offbeat Agora announces follow-up arts marketing discussion after sold-out Artist Exposé debut in Larnaca
After a sold-out debut in Larnaca this past July, Offbeat Agora is following up their kick-off discussion on arts marketing with an interactive online discussion for artists, cultural producers, and journalists on Thursday 28 September. Organised by SCALA (Cyprus) and Among the Ants (Greece), Offbeat Agora’s second Artist Exposé is delving deeper into the topic of their debut discussion at Kleidi Bar in Larnaca, with a focus on the importance of marketing, PR and promotion in the arts.
Beginning at 18:30, Offbeat Agora’s second Artist Exposé entitled, ‘Artistic Identity vs Public Image’ will be moderated by Maria Kaimaklioti (SCALA) using her experience in the music industry and live music sector, in collaboration with Constantina Georgiou (Among the Ants) using her background as a creative producer and artist mentor.
Registrations: Artist Exposé: Artistic Identity vs Public Image
Together, they will present useful communication tools whether used to promote a theatre production, concert, album release or exhibition opening. The two-hour discussion will focus on strategising the shape and expressivity of an artist’s communication and relationship with their audience, as well as defining one’s voice throughout their artistic trajectory. Reference will be made to branding, crafting audiovisual materials and texts, selecting communication avenues, as well as nurturing audience and media relationships.
The Artist Exposé will offer registrants the opportunity to discuss and innovate promotional arts practices and share their perspectives and experiences about their works.

About Offbeat Agora
Offbeat Agora is a transnational professional development initiative, founded by Among the Ants (Greece) and SCALA (Cyprus). The initiative facilitates a series of Artist Exposés focusing on chosen topics in the form of online or in-person artist meetings. In parallel, Offbeat Agora organises improvisational cross-sectoral Jam Explosions, workshops, mentorship programmes, artist residencies, and cross-border collaborations. The initiative targets artists from underrepresented regions, including the east Mediterranean, Balkan, and island countries, as well as currently occupied areas. Offbeat Agora bridges its cross-border network of artists working in Cyprus with international communities to foster new ways of creating and thinking. The initiative offers tools and solutions: from strategic thinking to day-to-day practical advice. Offbeat Agora cultivates a mentality of striving for constant development among local and transnational artists at any stage of their careers, with the goal of boosting professionalisation, innovation, and co-creation in the music and performing arts sectors.
